Customer Reviews

Wireless radio is not real strong, but generally connects well. Very easy to install and you can even do it directly through the front panel. LOW cost ink; reliable. Paper tray not easiest to refill. Tight turn means unlikely to pull heavy card stock. Good copies.

I've installed a bunch of this model and will install another tomorrow. Sorry some don't understand modern printers.

HOW TO ADDRESS PRINTING ISSUES:

1. "My color runs out, but I rarely use it!"

Color is chosen by default; most colors are MIXES of all colors. Go into your Printer properties, Advanced tab, Printing Defaults. Choose "Print Black" and you'll be printing ONLY black by default. You can still switch to color on demand anytime you get the printer dialog box. Change through "Preferences" button.

2. All newer printers stop when toners or ink is out-- this prevents you wasting paper on garbage output; not "rigging" by manufacturer. What's the solution? Have a set ready to replace!

3. "BUT eBay has junk cartridges and refills don't work!" True-- don't buy refills. There is a small protective membrane that breaks on the opening of the ink tube when installed. Pre-used cartridges leave air gaps and ink won't suck into the tubes properly. Solution: BUY FROM AMAZON! With a little searching on LC61, you'll see cartridges starting at about $1 each. So for $5 you can have a fresh 4 pack waiting! Or 12 pack for $10. My clients have used a ton of them. ALL manufacturers claim "you must only use our ink." Then they have a scapegoat for any problems. See the manual (paper and/or on line) for what support would tell you.

Brothers are the only ones currently on the market that offer low initial price, decent quality, and LOW supply cost.

Enjoy

I recently scored this AIO on sale from Office Depot. Needed a printer for the home office - and I couldn't be happier. The setup time from unboxing to printing test page was maybe 15 minutes. I have it setup wirelessly, which was as easy as opening the included software, and clicking the option in the setup software to "just install network setup driver." That allowed me to leave off the custom software - which I knew I wouldn't be using. Thanks for allowing me to choose, Brother!

Takes up very little room on the desk, sleek black color, and refill inks are unbelievably reasonable! 1/5th of the price of HP inks!

Speed of the prints is amazing, I haven't had an inkjet in a few years - and it was a standard Epson model. It was pretty slow, and waiting for printed pages was a bit frustrating. This device easily rivals laser printers with its speed.

Overall I'm super happy with my purchase! Keep it up Brother, and you will have a lifelong purchaser.
